The career of web design is being practiced all around the globe.
Every culture has different plans and ideas. This keeps web design interesting.
Having an open mind is essential to a web designer.
Implementing some of the other culture's ideas into your own work will open up your eyes to a whole new world.
You may even discover a brand new idea on your own that others will want to use.
In this blog post, I will be sharing with you web design projects that have been created by designers in The Netherlands, Australia, Germany, and China.
First stop, The Netherlands!
The Netherlands is a country located in northeastern Europe.
It is known to consist of a flat landscape of canals, windmills, tulip fields, and cycling routes.
By the sound of this, wouldn't you agree with me, that inspiration could be found all around?
Amsterdam is its capital.
Here is where the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and the home in which diarist Anne Frank hid herself during WWII reside.
Mansions along the canalside and troves of work done by artists such as Rembrandt and Vermeer still remain from the city's 17th Century best known as the "Golden Age."
As of 2019, the population of the country was 17.28 million.
How amazing would it be to do web design in a country like this with so much history stored within!?
Creativity is all around.
I'm always intrigued by the architecture of historic buildings.
Why not take some of this architectural design and use it in your career as a web designer?
So much could be done.
Now, let's take a look at a website that was created by an agency located in Amsterdam.
Soyuz Coffee is a company located in St. Petersburg, Russia.
View their website here.
I picked this website because it is very unique and I may or may not like coffee a little too much.
Seriously though, is there really a limit?
After I was done checking out the site, I really did want to make a purchase.
That is their goal, right?
The content of this site is quite capturing to the eyes.
Rustic/Coffeehouse vibes were definitely felt while browsing through their site.
Wouldn't you agree?
The website's scrolling motion caught my eye as well.
Ready to fly on over to Australia? Let's go!
Good day mate, so glad you made it!
Officially known as the Commonwealth of Australia, Australia is a sovereign country including the mainland of the Australian continent, island of Tasmania, and many smaller islands.
It is the largest country in Oceania.
Australia is the sixth-largest country by total area.
As of 2020, the population of Australia is 25.5 million.
Ready to dive into some of their web design projects?
I decided to choose two to share with you because Australia holds a special place in my heart.
It was where I lived for a short period of time as an Au Pair.
AFTER THE RŌCK
AFTER THE RŌCK is a refined wedding planning service located in New South Wales.
They are known to have a high-profile clientele.
You can view their website here.
This website caught my attention for many reasons.
Not only does it have a clean, modern, timeless approach with subtle hints, but it also has a bold, warm, and welcoming feel to it.
Its clean typefaces with and mature colour palette stood out to me as well.
Shall we check out one more?

Their website has a wonderful layout, photo quality is fantastic, very informative, and evokes users to vibrant colors.
I recommend visiting their recipes page.

Was your mouth watering?
Not because I had to, but because I wanted to.
A 10/10 for sure!
Germany anyone? Adventure awaits.......
Germany is a country that can be found in Western Europe.
It consists of forest landscape, mountain ranges, rivers, and North Sea beaches.
Did you know that it has over 2 millennia of history?
The capital of Germany is Berlin.
Berlin is best known for its art and nightlife scenes.
The Brandenburg Gate and many other sites related to WWII are located here as well.
Familiar with Munich?
Munich is well known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, included here, is the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus.
Skyscrapers, houses, and the European Central Bank can be found in Frankfurt.
As of 2019, its population was 83.02 million.
I have decided to choose one web design example out of Germany.
IVY & OAK
IVY & OAK is a unique fashion brand founded in May 2016 in Berlin, Germany.
View their website here.
Check out their story here.
I chose this specific website because of its simplicity.
As you scroll down and move your arrow across one of the pictures, the picture zooms in.
The layout is great as well. I love the size of the pictures on each page.
Clear images are always a plus.
Visiting IVY & OAK, to me, gave me vibes of elegance.
Why don't we head on over to China.......
Nǐ hǎo! So glad you finally made it!
Officially known as the People's Republic of China, China is a country located in East Asia.
China is the world's most populous country.
As of 2019, its population was 1.4 billion.
Wow, that's a lot of people!
Covering approximately 9.6 million square kilometres, China is considered to be the world's third or fourth-largest country concerning area.
Beijing is its capital city.
Ready to take a look at a website?
I'm very interested to see some of their designer's work.
China has always been intriguing to me.
Have you checked out China's YouTube?
Take a look: YOUKU
Quite amusing, right?
Who wants to learn Chinese with me? (wink, wink)
Now let's get back on track, shall we.........
Here is one website that stood out to me.
UE Chairs was established in 2001.
It has a business philosophy of "Integrity and Pragmatism, Openness and Innovation, Modesty and Gratitude, Cooperation and Win-Win."
Anji County is its home.
This is known as the chair industry in China.
Visit their website here.
Chinese websites seem to be more simple in my opinion.
I loved how the chairs were displayed and how informative the site was.
How they displayed their color options was great as well.
There were 5 chairs that you could look at: Alpha, Maya, Lamar, Arms, and Hana.
All of them looked extremely comfy!
Would I buy one? Absolutely!
Ready to start packing?
Hooray! We've reached the final stretch of our journey.
I'm so glad you decided to join me in exploring various web designs across the globe!
Hopefully you have learned some valuable information along the way.
I sure did!
Have a safe trip back home.
Bye, for now.
